Manufacturing Engineer is to bring together people, machines, materials, and information to facilitate an effective operation. The fundamental notion of cost reduction and productivity improvement with more efficient use of resources, be they human, material, physical, or financial.
Establish and maintain cost/time-estimating equations.
Implement Lean Manufacturing projects.
Assist with organizing Lean Manufacturing training.
Assist with cost reduction projects.
Provide technical assistance to manufacturing process of new and existing products.
Special quoting of new and unique products.
Establish and maintain plant layouts.
Establish and maintain production limits at each facility.
Provide support and resources to office and production floor employees.
Create and maintain visual work instructions.
Create and maintain preventive maintenance work instructions for machines.
Recommend, specify, approve, and buying of services, equipment, parts, and outsourcing.
Lead and/or participate in workshop activities.
Domestic and international travel may be required.
Use and understand various paperwork, including schedules, prints, & tech standards.
Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.
Regular, consistent attendance.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
